Construction of Polk County's newest high school, Tenoroc High School, was completed on-time with school opening in August 2008 for the 2008-2009 school year..

The school's design is based on the Polk County Schoosl prototype, first constructed at Ridge Community High School. This version of the school is slightly larger and includes a new building which houses a 'Power Academy' sponsored by Lakeland Electric.
